Dwyer Workforce Development (DWD) Named Daily Record Health Care Heroes Award Winner

DWD Recognized in Community Outreach for Organizations Category

The Jack and Nancy Dwyer Workforce Development Center, Inc. (“Dwyer Workforce Development” or “DWD”) is proud to announce the organization has been selected by The Daily Record as a 2023 Health Care Heroes award winner, in the community outreach for organizations category.

As home to several renowned medical and federal institutions, Maryland is a national leader in health care research and development. The Daily Record’s Health Care Heroes Awards honor those individuals and organizations who have made an impact on the quality of health care within the state. The winners were selected by the publisher and editors of The Daily Record.

DWD was selected among other impactful health care organizations, including GBMC Sexual Assault Forensic Examination and Domestic Violence Program, Johns Hopkins Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team, Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States, and Sheppard Pratt.

“We’re honored to be recognized as one of The Daily Record’s 2023 Health Care Heroes alongside so many incredible organizations and individuals that are making a positive impact on Maryland’s health care industry,” said Barb Clapp, Dwyer Workforce Development CEO. “By pairing our free health care career training and job placement with robust case management and wraparound services, we are providing a new paradigm for workforce training – eliminating barriers and creating paths toward life-changing careers for individuals who lack opportunity. As a result, DWD is filling crucial roles in Maryland’s senior health care industry and improving the lives of seniors in senior care facilities. We look forward to furthering our mission in Maryland – and beyond.”

“The 2023 Health Care Heroes have made a significant impact on the quality of health care in Maryland and beyond through their leadership, innovation and service. Regardless of the challenges they face, these Health Care Heroes are leading the way to the future of health care,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director of The Daily Record/BridgeTower Media. “Their extraordinary efforts, particularly over the past three years, are to be commended. We at The Daily Record congratulate them on this honor and thank them for all they have done and will continue to do.” To learn about the Health Care Heroes Awards and to see other honorees, visit https://thedailyrecord.com/event/health-care-heroes/.
