Dwyer Workforce Development Named to Executive Alliance’s 2026 Honor Roll for Women’s Leadership

Jack and Nancy Dwyer Workforce Development Center, Inc. (DWD), a national healthcare workforce development nonprofit, is proud to announce the organization has been named to Executive Alliance’s 2026 Honor Roll for Women’s Representation. The award recognizes Maryland companies and organizations with at least 30% women in both executive leadership and board of director positions.

The distinction highlights DWD’s commitment to gender equity and inclusive governance. Since 2007, Executive Alliance has tracked women’s representation at the highest leadership levels through its annual Census Report: Women Board Directors in Maryland.

“This recognition reflects our intentional commitment to women’s leadership,” said DWD CEO Barb Clapp. “Women make up the majority of the healthcare workforce. It’s important that our leadership reflects that reality and helps shape an organization that understands and supports the field we serve.”

“Having been co-chair for Executive Alliance’s mentoring program for four years, I’ve seen that the most effective organizations are those that value diverse lived experiences,” added DWD Chief  Engagement Officer Maria Darby. “At DWD, having women at the decision-making table simply leads to better outcomes for our Scholars. It ensures our programs are designed with a deep understanding of the barriers they face, allowing us to provide the specific support they need to stay in the workforce and thrive.”

DWD joins Maryland companies and nonprofit organizations on the 2026 Honor Roll, which will be formally celebrated at an event on March 18, 2026, at Laurel Park Racetrack. Honorees will be featured in Executive Alliance’s Annual Census Report.
